Marmaduke Mouse encounters his cousin Mortimer, a naval officer who has converted a submarine into a speed-boat and wants Marmaduke to help him test it. When Mortimer gets stuck in an old fishbowl after a trick goes wrong, Marmaduke must hold a broom to keep him from moving. In a second story, "Marmaduke Mouse in Pest Cure," Marmaduke checks into his own inn for a peaceful vacation, but a buzzy rabbit guest disrupts his rest by repeatedly hitting him with a flyswatter.
