In the first, Marmaduke and an unnamed antagonist use TNT to blast their way out of a trapped location; after the explosion, Marmaduke discovers the sound was actually a cricket hiding in a piece of cement, and the other character thanks him for his neighborly help before departing. Later, Marmaduke struggles to carry a large musical instrument (possibly a cello) through a revolving door, which he eventually manages to retrieve despite the object's considerable weight. In "Sleepy Time Pal," Bruno Bruin hasn't slept in weeks and asks Marmaduke for help; Marmaduke promises to sing him a lullaby to cure his insomnia.
Marmaduke Mouse is looking forward to a quiet day at home with a home-cooked meal from Mamie, but a relentless parade of door-to-door salesmen keeps interrupting his plans with increasingly absurd pitches—from newsprint removers to calendars from 1922. Determined to reclaim his peace, Marmaduke builds an elaborate contraption designed to send any salesman packing, only to discover his device has caught the wrong visitor when it finally springs.
Marmaduke Mouse has just finished cementing his walkway when his well-meaning neighbor Roscoe Rabbit shows up to return a borrowed lawnmower—and promptly ruins the fresh cement with muddy footprints. When Roscoe promises to fix it by 5 o'clock, Marmaduke is skeptical, but the rabbit sets to work mixing a new batch. As the afternoon wears on, Roscoe's enthusiasm for hard labor wavers, and a misplaced pocket watch becomes the least of their worries when the newly hardened cement refuses to cooperate.
Prince Pinky and Pudd sneak out to face the fire-breathing dragon terrorizing the north woods when no one else will volunteer for the dangerous task. After a chaotic encounter leaves the beast docile, the quick-thinking pair devise an ingenious solution that turns the kingdom's biggest threat into its most useful asset.
Marmaduke Mouse agrees to help Mamie Mouse deliver a tall bass violin across town, but the unwieldy instrument proves to be far more trouble than either of them anticipated, leading to a comedy of mishaps at every turn. Along the way, Marmaduke and his friends devise a plan to deal with their persistent feline nemesis, Cuthbert Cat, using an unexpected tool to ensure he won't catch them by surprise again.
Bruno Bruin is desperately short on sleep and has tried everything to cure his insomnia—so when Marmaduke Mouse offers to help, the well-meaning pal launches into a series of increasingly chaotic schemes to lull his friend to dreamland. From lullabies and rocking chairs to bedtime stories and hypnotism, Marmaduke's remedies create far more trouble than rest, leaving the exhausted mouse to face his own sleepless night by story's end.
