Masterpiece Comics #[nn]
"Blond Eve" is a striking reinterpretation of Hawthorne’s *The Scarlet Letter*, reimagined by R. Sikoryak in this 2009 issue from Drawn & Quarterly. Centered on the fiercely independent Pearl, born to Hester Prynne in a rigid Puritan village, the story unfolds with quiet intensity as Hester bears the weight of a scarlet letter and a secret that stirs the town. With every page drawn, inked, lettered, and written by Sikoryak, the narrative captures the tension between societal judgment and a child’s untamed spirit—rendered in a style both meticulous and evocative. The cover, also by Sikoryak, mirrors the story’s stark, timeless tone.
