Midnite #3

Mar 1987 · Blackthorne · 1.75 USD; 2.50 CAD
“Reform School Skunk!”

In "Reform School Skunk!", Midnite recounts a dark chapter from her past when her idealism led her into a trap set by the club owner DeGenerate and his manipulative band leader Kat. After standing up to DeGenerate at a strip club where she worked as a weightlifter, she's framed for robbery and sentenced to the infamous Bromotraz Reformatory for Girls—where time itself seems to stretch into eternity. Written and illustrated by Milton Knight, this raw, introspective tale unfolds with the same bold, unflinching style that defines the series, with cover art by Knight capturing the story’s defiant, surreal edge.

After saving her friend Babs from committing suicide, Midnite relates the story of how she almost destroyed herself for a man: in her college days, Midnite went to work at a strip club (she was a weightlifter) and because she stood up against club owner DeGenerate, he convinced his band leader Kat to romance Midnite then convince her to frame herself for robbery. Midnite went to the Bromotraz Reformatory for Girls for 500 years ("or 'till your death").
