Modern Love #8
In "I Had Two Husbands!", a 1950 EC comic gem, a marriage hangs in the balance when Hank and Libby’s argument over her job and independence leads to a shocking revelation: their marriage was never legally valid. Wally Wood’s expressive art, inked by Harry Harrison and lettered by Jim Wroten, brings sharp emotional stakes to a story that pivots on a single overlooked detail. Al Feldstein’s cover captures the moment’s tension perfectly, as Libby faces a choice between past and present—before the license bureau offers a second chance.
