Lydia loves Lenny but she has little time for him, since she’s working extra hours to pay for her mother’s operation. She offers to marry her boss Nicholas if he advances her the money to save her mother’s life. Lenny is angry, saying Lydia’s mother is old and should just die. Nicholas on the other hand says Lydia doesn’t have to marry him for money. This makes Lydia realize she doesn’t love Lenny after all, and Nicholas is the man she truly loves.
