“I Was Ashamed of My Forbidden Kisses!”

In "I Was Ashamed of My Forbidden Kisses!", tennis hopeful Alice faces heartbreak when her idol and crush, Mack, turns her down for the Harris Cup team—not for lack of talent, but because he won’t compromise his integrity. Though hurt, her loyalty is tested when a rival tries to manipulate the selection, prompting Mack to walk away and start a new life raising chickens in Wyoming. With the story drawn by Mike Sekowsky and inked by Chris Rule, this 1950 issue captures a quiet, heartfelt moment of personal growth and unexpected connection.
