Madge graduates from college and heads for her farm home. She meets composer Kenneth on the train: he’s traveling west for his health, and says he’s a city person. Madge invites him to stay on the farm to rest, and he agrees. Kenneth and Madge fall in love, but when his pastoral symphony is to be premiered at Carnegie Hall, Madge says she can’t marry him if it means moving to the city. Kenneth travels to New York and is a success, but realises Madge is his true love, and returns to the farm to marry her.
