This anthology issue contains two science-fiction stories. "The Double Man" follows Captain Franz Kone of space exploration, who lands on a third planet of the Xerses Cluster and discovers it is barren and uninhabited, yet realizes he cannot be the only survivor of his expedition. In the second story, an alien visitor called "Giggling John" infiltrates Earth society by impersonating a human named Dave Coombs and schemes to transfer wealth from a wealthy guest to finance his alien civilization's needs, while the real Dave works to expose the imposter. The cover story "Terror Beach" depicts an underwater struggle for life and death involving a diver and a massive sea creature.

"Space Kitchen" explores the real engineering challenge of keeping a spaceman properly nourished when gravity disappears, examining everything from the danger of floating hot grease to the specialized ovens and food containers that will need to be invented for survival in orbit.

Terror Beach!
6 pp · Science Fiction

Shark Logart, a world-famous deep-sea hunter who's conquered every dangerous creature the ocean has to offer, finds himself bored and restless—until he discovers a thrilling new obsession lurking in the waters off California. When a mysterious swimmer intervenes, Logart vanishes from the beaches and resurfaces a changed man, forever haunted by something he encountered in the depths.
