This anthology issue contains at least two stories: "The Meeting in Room 12," in which a poor boy named Jason Weir is promised wealth and kindness by a mysterious man named Mr. Dugall, only to discover that Dugall has given him counterfeit money and stolen his savings, and "Death Dream!," a science fiction tale about a space traveler who dreams of being stranded on Venus and fighting hostile Venusian gangsters, while simultaneously a rocket from Point Lomas is launched toward Saturn with an astronomer's telescope aboard, and Earth's leaders fear the Saturnians will use the device to conquer humanity.

His Shadow Was a Fool
7 pp · Fantasy

Hedley Dess, a brilliant young industrialist engaged to the wealthy Lois Lacklin, finds his carefully ordered world upended when he discovers an alternate version of himself—a carefree charmer who shares his face, his voice, and his office. When this other Hedley takes control of the phone lines to "help" the buttoned-up tycoon loosen up, his well-meaning sabotage sends shockwaves through both their lives, forcing each Hedley to confront what he's been missing. Written with letters by typeset, this 1962 fantasy from *Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds* #32 explores what happens when ambition collides with happiness—and discovers there might be room for both.

Long Distance Calling
7 pp · Horror-Suspense

A ruthless financier named Jason Weir finally achieves his lifelong ambition of acquiring Dugall Tower, the grand estate he's coveted since childhood—but his triumph turns to terror when mysterious telephone calls begin ringing through the empty house during a violent, inexplicable storm. As the calls continue and an unmistakable voice on the line confronts him with his own cruelty, Weir must reckon with the weight of his crimes and the price of his ambition. A chilling reminder that some debts demand more than money to settle.

Death Dream!
3 pp · Science Fiction
The Meeting in Room 12
6 pp · Science Fiction

A federal investigator accidentally intercepts a mysterious summons meant for another man and decides to crash a clandestine meeting—only to be teleported across space to Saturn as punishment for his snooping. Stranded on a hostile moon colony where Earth's best minds are enslaved for an alien labor force, he must orchestrate a daring escape using nothing but his wits, a working watch, and a carefully timed rescue from home. "The Meeting in Room 12" is a taut science-fiction thriller that proves sometimes the best way out is through.

The Galleon Girl
3 pp · Fantasy

Finn Corbett, a diver exploring a remote Florida key, spots the ghostly figure of a beautiful girl beckoning from the wreck of a Spanish galleon—and despite the risks of nitrogen narcosis, he can't resist swimming closer to investigate. What begins as an otherworldly encounter with a mysterious woman fleeing from a sword-wielding pursuer named El Roja quickly blurs the line between dream and reality, leaving Corbett unsure whether the danger, the treasure, and the girl herself are products of his oxygen-starved mind or something far stranger.
