In Negation #27, Komptin's fury flares as Charon names Evinlea, the Imperial Consort, as his war consul for the assault on the Bright Universe. Meanwhile, Lizard Lady reveals to Kane that Zaida and her child are fragments of a single entity—Danik—split apart during Zaida’s capture, and with the password Crossgenesis, she awakens Zaida’s memories. Now calling herself Zamida, Zaida leads Kane and Lizard Lady to meet Charon’s mysterious enemy, Appolyon. Written by Tony Bedard and illustrated by Paul Pelletier, with inks by Dave Meikis and Drew Hennessy, colors by Larry Molinar, and letters by Troy Peteri, the cover by Paul Pelletier and Dave Meikis captures the tension of this pivotal moment.

Komptin becomes enraged when Charon announces that Imperial Consort, Evinlea, is to be Charon's war consul for the invasion of the "Bright Universe'. Lizard Lady explains to Kane that Zaida and her baby are both a single aspect of a being called Danik that split into two parts when Zaida was captured and brought to the Negation Universe. Lizard Lady is able to trigger Zaida's memories with the password, Crossgenesis. Zaida, now calling herself Zamida, takes Kane and Lizard Lady to meet Charon's enemy, Appolyon.
