When Johann Bessler (Stonecold) sacrifices two people to his "perpetual motion machine" in an effort to get his humanity back it backfires by attracting the attention of the Ghost Rider. He goes to the Nightstalkers for help, and after a small skirmish convinces them to help him. Together they destroy the machine but Stonecold escapes when Frank Drake freezes because of a vision of a demonic, bloody Blade from the future.
