Ozzie gets in trouble after answering a radio quiz show overtime, leading his friend to warn him of consequences. Meanwhile, Babs practices archery and accidentally shoots Ozzie with an arrow. Later, the two become involved in a chaotic fire emergency where firefighters race to a blaze at the corner of Oak and Elm, with Ozzie attempting to help straighten out the fire truck's tangled equipment before the engines arrive. In another sequence, Babs works a job at Lacy's Department Store, where Ozzie and friends observe her industriously at work, eventually commenting that she must have lost weight despite her hard labor.
