This issue contains at least two romance stories set in the American West. The first follows Mary, a ranch woman torn between her feelings for Bob and Tom, a charming stranger from the East whom she meets at a dance; after a passionate evening, Tom leaves and Mary realizes her true heart belongs with Bob. The second story, "Wildcat of the West," features Janey Dowling, a tomboyish girl raised by her father Nuggets, who falls for Jack Van Tyne, a stranger from the East, only to have him literally fall at her feet when a tree branch gives way during a moment of romance.
