In "The House Fixers," Richie and his friends Peewee and Freckles are enlisted to fix up the dilapidated home of the grumpy Mr. and Mrs. Slarber—only to find themselves caught in a scheme to extort money from Richie. When a simple rubber ball triggers a collapse, Richie calls in a house-fixing machine, turning the wreck into a showplace, while Slarber complains about minor damages. Offering experimental grass seeds as compensation, Richie sets off a chain of events that quickly spirals beyond their control.

In "Alert Butling," Cadbury spins a tale for Richie about his time as a reluctant caretaker to Sir Ruddy Blighter—sportsman and upper class vagrant—whose knack for getting into perilous scrapes with falling rocks, bears, and hidden crevasses is only matched by his habit of blaming Cadbury when he’s knocked out cold.
