Robin Hood rescues Maid Marian and four new recruits from the Earl of Wessex's trap by tracking them to a secret tunnel, but arrives too late to prevent their capture. The outlaws manage to escape and return to camp, where the townspeople welcome them back with gifts and celebration, though Friar Tuck laments that people's loyalty fades quickly. In "Sir Guy's Worst Fate," Sir Guy de Mandeville, bound by a strict code of honor, is defeated in jousting combat by Baron Corday, which he considers a greater shame than death itself.
