“The Unhappy Hero (Chapter 1)”

In "The Unhappy Hero (Chapter 1)," Josie finds herself at the center of a rivalry that takes a surprising turn when Albert and Alex’s feud escalates into a near-miss with a speeding car. Written by Frank Doyle and brought to life with Dan DeCarlo’s signature style—pencils and inks by DeCarlo and Rudy Lapick—this 1964 issue captures the classic Archie charm with a moment of unexpected heroism. The cover, also by DeCarlo and Lapick, perfectly frames the chaos and comedy of the moment.
