SHIELD [Nick Fury and His Agents of SHIELD] #1
In "When the Unliving Strike!", Nick Fury faces a bizarre threat when a sonic vibrator leads him into a deadly underwater trap, only to confront a wave of rogue androids that overwhelm A.I.M.'s forces. As Fury battles the machines and uncovers a deeper conspiracy, he's met with resistance from military leaders who see A.I.M.'s technology as too valuable to ignore—especially if it means sidelining him. With the fight spilling into the SHIELD barber shop, Fury, Dum Dum, and Jasper must defend their base from an unexpected invasion. Written by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, illustrated by Kirby and Don Heck, and featuring a striking cover by Jim Steranko, this 1973 Marvel classic blends Cold War tension with sci-fi intrigue in a story that's as sharp as it is unpredictable.
