As Kanjar Ro’s forces attack Thanagar, Adam Strange jets off to learn Kanjar Ro’s plans. Meanwhile Hawkman flies to the surface and meets with Andar Pul, who tells him Thanagarians are indebted to Hyathis, who becomes their queen. Hawkman flies back to the ship to learn from Adam that Kanjar Ro is planning on teleporting to the throne room to assassinate Hyathis, with disastrous consequences for Thanagar. At the last minute Hawkman stops Kanjar Ro and saves Hyathis’s life, for which she allows him and his friends to leave the planet and not return, rather than killing him as a traitor.
