Adam Warlock and Mephisto battle while the Silver Surfer and the other Infinity Watch members are trapped in mystic stone eggs and can only watch, until Drax exerts his strength and breaks them free. The Surfer is buried under a rockslide. When he digs his way out, the Watch has left. The defeated Mephisto lets him go but influences his mind so that on his return he attacks the Watch; but seeing a restored Shalla Bal breaks the spell.
