Sniffy the pup visits a butcher shop seeking lunch, but the butcher refuses to serve him before the dinner hour. Desperate and discouraged, Sniffy escapes into the countryside where he spots a vegetable patch and attempts to raid it, only to be chased away by farm animals. When criminals attempt to rob the farmer, Sniffy inadvertently helps thwart them by firing arrows that were meant as a scarecrow trick, ultimately becoming the hero of the day and earning the farmer's gratitude.
