The elder Spock joins the Vulcan survivors as they search for a new planet to call home. The Vulcan Council of Elders propose Ceti Alpha V as their new home. Spock, knowing the fate of that planet in the original timeline, advises them to look elsewhere. However, blaming Spock in part for the loss of their homeworld, the Elders reject his advice and exile Spock from any contact with them. Meanwhile, Romulan extremists plot to destroy the Vulcan survivors once and for all.
