In "Wie killt man einen Superman - Teil 1 : Superman, wer bist du?", Batman shrinkes to microscopic size and infiltrates Kandor, where he overhears a shocking revelation: Superman was crowned king of the city to prevent civil war—yet something about him has changed since. Written by Bob Haney and illustrated by Dick Dillin with inks by John Calnan, this 1977 issue sees Batman captured by the High Council, who promise to deal with the "Steel One" themselves. Soon after, the mysterious figure vanishes—only to reemerge with a new, ominous threat against Earth, forcing the U.S. President to task Batman with a mission that could change everything.
