Tales from the Crypt #46
In "Upon Reflection," the mayor of a quiet town, consumed by grief and vengeance after his wife's death at the hands of a werewolf, takes matters into his own hands during the next full moon. When his posse spots a woman they believe to be the beast, he retreats to his library to confirm the signs—only to find himself staring into a mirror, firing at his own reflection. Written by Carl Wessler and brought to life with chilling precision by Jack Davis on art and inks, this tale from Tales from the Crypt #46 (1955, 10¢) delivers a twist that redefines fear and identity. The cover, also by Jack Davis, captures the moment with haunting intensity.

The mayor of a small town vows revenge upon a werewolf that killed his wife. On the night of the next full moon, he and his posse encounter a woman they suspect may be the culprit, so he returns to his library to check on the signs of a werewolf in human form. When he enters the darkened room, he sees the werewolf's snarling face looming in front of him, and shoots several times. When the posse enters, they see the mayor (the werewolf) shooting at his own reflection in a mirror!
