An anthology issue featuring three stories. "The Globe" depicts a Marine pilot who conducts a daring low-level bombing run against enemy gun positions, taking heavy fire before successfully completing the mission. "The Eagle" shows a Marine ordered to abandon his sinking ship with his skipper, an old sea tradition dating to John Paul Jones; when Japanese forces attack and the ship begins to sink, the protagonist attempts to rescue his skipper by swimming to shore to find a radio and contact the fleet. "The Anchor" presents Marines engaging in intense ground combat, clearing enemy positions from fortified towns while suffering casualties in the dirty work of warfare.
