The Amazing Spider-Man #294
In "Thunder [Kraven's Last Hunt Part 5]," Spider-Man confronts Kraven in a final, desperate showdown beneath the city. Kraven, claiming to have surpassed Spider-Man by wearing his costume and "killing" him, refuses to fight and instead forces the hero into a brutal test against Vermin in an underground lair. With Vermin victorious, Kraven spares Spider-Man’s life and sends him on a new mission—tracking down the mutated menace. As the hunt ends, Kraven retreats into a coffin, a shotgun in his mouth, and the fate of the Hunter hangs in the balance. Written by J. M. DeMatteis and illustrated by Mike Zeck, with inks by Bob McLeod, colors by Janet Jackson, and letters by Rick Parker, this pivotal issue features a cover by Mike Zeck and Bob McLeod.
