The Best of Archie Christmas Comics #[nn]
In "Holiday Horror," Veronica’s holiday shopping takes a delightfully absurd turn when her frustration over Archie favoring Betty’s more affordable gifts leads her to splurge on a diamond-studded platinum knife—meant, of course, for spreading caviar. When she catches Betty at the same store, she convinces her to swap gifts, setting up a lighthearted clash of generosity and ego. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Dan DeCarlo with inks by Rudy Lapick, this festive tale captures the classic Archie charm with a touch of comedic extravagance, all wrapped in a cover by Dan Parent and Rich Koslowski.

Veronica and her dad discuss how Archie always likes Betty's (cheaper) gifts better than Veronica's gift. Veronica is unable to bring herself to buy anything in Betty's price range, and promptly buys a diamond-studded platinum knife ("for spreading caviar") at La Snobbe Shoppe. Veronica then stops by Betty's and convinces her to switch gifts, so she ends up giving Archie the more expensive gift.
