“Dark Future”

In "Dark Future," Priest endures brutal experimentation at the hands of the twisted twins Liz Arno and Kevin Bergregor as they push her toward feral transformation. After escaping with the crucial Heat-16 module, she’s hunted by her former feral comrades, who lay waste to the town of El Morte—only to be captured once more by Erlich Westerlin’s guards, who force her into a grueling life as a Uranium-235 miner. Written by Alan McElroy and illustrated by Dwayne Turner, with inks by Danny Miki and lettering by Tom Orzechowski, this harrowing tale from The Best of Curse of the Spawn #nn (2006) delivers a stark, relentless vision of survival in a fractured world. The cover, also by Danny Miki, captures the grim intensity of Priest’s ordeal.
