The Demon #2
In "Into the Abyss," Jason’s descent into Hell takes a harrowing turn as he endures torment beyond mortal endurance—only for the Demon within him to awaken and strike out toward his mother’s whereabouts. On Earth, his friends confront a skeptical Kitch with a chilling account of Etrigan’s dark legacy and the infernal ties binding man and demon, insisting that only a Dark Knight can offer proof—and salvation. Written by Alan Grant and brought to life with visceral detail by Val Semeiks, Denis Rodier, Robbie Busch, and Todd Klein, this 1990 issue delivers a tense, supernatural journey with cover art by Semeiks and Rodier.

Jason is captured in the bowels of Hell and tortured just like any other, but when he flags and blacks out, the Demon comes out and heads off in search of his mother. Meanwhile on Earth, his friends show their worth by telling the cops a dark tale, of a bond between man and the demon Etrigan and the long sordid history of Hell. Kitch wants to just scoff and blow it all off but he finds that it gives him a fright, they swear it's the truth and if he wants proof then they need to call in a Dark Knight.
