“Ring Around the Rhino!”

In "Ring Around the Rhino!", the Hulk, still reeling from a sedative, faces off against the newly powered Rhino—fresh out of prison and back for revenge—during a high-stakes prison transfer. With Betty Ross caught in the crossfire, the Hulk’s rage leads him to an unexpected and reckless decision. Written by Gary Friedrich and brought to life with bold energy by Marie Severin’s pencils and Frank Giacoia’s inks, this 1968 classic features a standout cover by Severin and Giacoia, capturing the chaos in a single, dynamic image.

The Rhino, finally out of prison after his last battle with Spider-Man, is contacted by the men who originally gave him his costume and they offer to give him a new suit with more power. Banner is in prison at Sing-Sing and as Ross is transferring him to a new location, the Rhino attacks and battle ensues. The Hulk is groggy from being sedated but still manages to beat the Rhino to (apparent) death. Looking for love in all the wrong places, the Hulk grabs Betty from her father and takes off.
