The Incredible Hulk #324
In "The More Things Change...", Bruce Banner struggles to maintain control as he and the Hulk remain merged, trapped at Gamma Base and locked in a desperate battle for dominance. When the Hulk finally breaks free, he's pursued toward Samson's nutrient bath—only for chaos to erupt when General Ross interferes, sending Rick Jones tumbling in. The resulting immersion triggers a shocking transformation, but the outcome is far from what anyone expected. Written by Al Milgrom and illustrated by Al Milgrom and Dennis Janke, with colors by George Roussos and letters by Rick Parker, the cover by Al Milgrom captures the moment of tension.

With the Hulk and Banner merged once again, he is restrained at Gamma Base as he continues to switch from one to the other. Banner tries to emerge from the Hulk's chest and kill himself while the jade giant is forced to protect him. The Hulk escapes from his restraints and is chased toward Samson's nutrient bath. Ross tries to monkey with the equipment being used to cure Banner of the Hulk and, when Rick intervenes, Ross knocks him into the bath. The Hulk is submerged in the same tank and busts out of the side as the grey version of the Hulk but he quickly reverts to Banner.
