Nov 1990 · Innovation · 2.25 USD; 2.75 CAD
“Prisoners of the Oyabun (Chapter Two of the Demon Trilogy)”

In "Prisoners of the Oyabun (Chapter Two of the Demon Trilogy)," the Justice Machine faces a brutal test of loyalty and will as the Oyabun tries to bend them to his will—unsuccessfully. With Challenger breaking free and Demon offering a shocking act of penance, tensions explode when Maxinor is felled by his own son Robert, now a puppet of the Oyabun’s command. As Blazer and Robert clash in a fight that grows more desperate by the moment, a sudden shift in the air signals that something far more personal is at stake. Written by Tony Isabella and illustrated by Mike Gustovich, with a striking cover by Jason Pearson, this issue deepens the mystery of the Demon Trilogy with chilling precision.

The Oyabun attempts to have the captured Justice Machine join him without success. After he leaves, Challenger escapes and aids the others. Meanwhile, Demon --who owes the Oyabun a debt of honor-- has been found wanting and offers the Oyabun a token of his atonement: the first finger of his left hand. Maxinor appears and is cut down by his son Robert, now talking through a mechanical device but obeying only the Oyabun's orders. As Blazer and Robert fight, she goes into labor.
