“Used Autobots”

In "Used Autobots," the Throttlebots and Blaster take refuge in a rundown car lot after being ambushed by Vortex, only to find themselves trapped when the lot’s owner sabotages their fuel with sugar and calls the authorities. With a RAAT team on the way and the Combaticons closing in, the situation spirals as Grimlock dispatches Protectobots to retrieve them—leading to a chaotic clash of forces. Written by Bob Budiansky and illustrated by Don Perlin, Ian Akin, and Brian Garvey, with colors by Nel Yomtov and letters by Pat Brosseau, the cover by Frank Springer captures the high-stakes tension of the moment.

The Throttlebots and Blaster are attacked by Vortex, and running low on fuel they hide out in a used car lot for the night. The car lot owner discovers who they are, taints their fuel with sugar, and calls the cops who send in a RAAT team. The Combaticons show up to finish off the Throttlebots, but Grimlock has also sent a team of Protectobots to bring them back to the Ark. The two groups battle, and in the confusion RAAT loads up the incapacitated Throttlebots onto a transporter and drives away with them. After fighting off the Combaticons, Hotspot tells Blaster that he's under arrest.
