The X-Men stop at a space station along Vulcan's path to re-fuel, but all is not as it seems with the station's crew. Meanwhile Shi'ar Vice-Chancellor K'Tor laments the results of Vulcan's rampage and the weaknesses of Empress Lilandra. Upon hearing news related to the line of the Phoenix he releases Korvus of the line of Rook'shir from his prison to wield the Blade of the Phoenix.
