Thomas Zhou has created a holographic weapons system based loosely on old legends of the Shan-Tao monks. The Lin Kuei order, traditional enemies of the Shan-Tao, believe that Thomas has used an ancient scroll to do this. Thomas and Megan follow clues and try to find the scroll in order to get the Lin Kuei off their backs, but they are attacked at every turn by their enemies.
