“Witch Hunt!”

In "Witch Hunt!", Neal Adams crafts a chilling tale of ancient terror resurfacing in the modern world. A prehistoric mutant, driven from his tribe and sealed beneath a waterfall, awakens centuries later as a sound-hungry entity stalking the woods. When a pair of unsuspecting hippies stumble upon his hidden refuge, his desperate need for noise turns a quiet night into a pulse-pounding chase—until a single, unexpected sound changes everything. The story’s eerie atmosphere and bold visuals are brought to life by Adams’ writing and art, with cover by John Romita and Frank Giacoia.

In the prehistoric past, a mutant caveman is chased through the underground by his fellow cavemen, who want to destroy him. He hides behind a waterfall and feeds on the roaring sound. Eons later when the waterfall dries up, he explodes up into the surface world. In the modern day, a hippie couple stumble upon him. He is now a pulsating mass hiding in an abandoned home in the woods and desperately needs sound to feed on and pursues the couple. Just as he is about to shrivel up and die, the girl opens her mouth.
