Uncanny X-Force #33
In "Final Execution Chapter Nine: The Father Who Must Be Killed," Nightcrawler faces a brutal choice as he finally confronts the Blob—only to be tested in ways he never expected. Meanwhile, Daken traps Wolverine in a sealed chamber, forcing him to confront his failures as a father while Evan watches, helpless and terrified. The tension escalates as Evan, pushed to his limits, dons the Apocalypse suit in a desperate bid to change the course of events. Written by Rick Remender and illustrated with striking intensity by Phil Noto, with colors by Frank Martin Jr. and Rachelle Rosenberg, this issue delivers a raw, character-driven showdown. The cover by Julian Totino Tedesco captures the moment’s grim weight.

Nightcrawler gets his chance to kill the Blob and takes it. Wolverine has been captured by the Brotherhood and Daken talks to him at length about his lack of parenting skills. He then attempts to kill his father by drowning him in a sealed chamber that even Wolverine's adamantium claws cannot cut through. Daken makes Evan watch the whole procedure and then beats the boy to within an inch of his life. Badly injured and afraid that Wolverine will finally be killed, Evan puts on the Apocalypse suit.
