# Voodoo #9 (May 1953) This anthology issue contains at least two stories. In the first, Count Terrano, an ancestral overlord of Terrano, fears he cannot escape his bondage and watches in terror as a mysterious figure in a voodoo mask appears at his doorway; the revelation involves boots fashioned as part of voodoo magic, leading to complications with a peasant named Rolfo and his impending marriage. In a second story, Joe Owani attempts to convince his fiancée Patti that voodoo is merely superstition and that she should not fear his people's beliefs, but she refuses to marry him without his renunciation of these practices, driving him to leave in frustration. The final story presented involves Henry Moore discovering his wife dead from a heart attack, and through arcane books and a magical rug holding a demon, he schemes to acquire a demon-cursed artifact, ultimately attempting to use demonic powers for sinister purposes.
