“Letter to Santa”

In "Letter to Santa," Donald Duck faces a holiday dilemma when he realizes he forgot to send the nephews’ Christmas letter to Santa—only to learn they’re asking for a steamshovel. With help from Uncle Scrooge, who’s determined to claim credit for the gift, things take a wild turn when both men end up in steamshovels, crashing in a festive showdown. Carl Barks crafts a delightfully chaotic tale of mistaken generosity, with the iconic art and storytelling that defined Disney comics in 1949, while Walt Kelly’s festive cover captures the holiday spirit with a classic touch.

Donald forgets to mail the nephews' letter to Santa Claus and discovers on Christmas Eve that they want a steamshovel. Donald gets the money for the steamshovel from Uncle Scrooge but Scrooge, upset because Santa and not he will get the credit for the gift, buys a steamshovel of his own to give to the nephews. He and Donald meet and fight in their steamshovels, wrecking them. Then they disguise Donald as Santa so that he can tell the nephews he's out of steamshovels.
