Weird Fantasy #19
"King of the Grey Spaces!" is a chilling tale from Weird Fantasy #19 (1953), where a group of space pilots land on Pluto and stumble upon a colossal reptilian statue that seems to shift in the silence of the distant world. Written by Al Feldstein and brought to life with stark, atmospheric art by Joe Orlando—whose pencils and inks define the cover and interior—this story plays with perception, time, and the uncanny, as the crew’s understanding of motion and reality begins to unravel. The eerie shift in pace, hinted at through subtle changes on the planet’s surface, leads to a haunting aftermath that lingers long after their return to Earth.

A group of space pilots travel to Pluto. While exploring, they see a huge statue of a reptilian monster. The next day they notice the statue has moved very slightly. Eventually it comes to life and stomps after them. When the men get back to the ship, they realize that because time moves very slowly on the planet due to its orbital rotations, they were moving at an incredibly slow speed before, but have now adjusted to Pluto's orbit. After they escape and get back to Earth, they notice that they are still moving at an incredibly slow speed and people think they are frozen in death.
