In "The Right for the Horse's Mouth," Gabby Hayes, foreman of the Bar Nothing Ranch, discovers dirty work afoot at the local Wells Fargo office and teams up with Red Eagle and his tribe to stop bandits who have stolen gold and hidden it in a talking totem. After a series of confrontations involving the thieves and the recovery of the stolen gold, Red Eagle and his people are credited with retrieving the treasure, and Gabby agrees to settle the matter peacefully with Clay and the others involved.
