This issue contains two main stories. In the first story, a hero in a red shirt encounters masked men while swimming and later retrieves a stolen map from Gold Rush Jones, which reveals the location of buried gold in Rawhide. In the second story, "Monte Hale and the Town Hero," the roving cowboy Monte Hale arrives in Petesville, a town named after the prospector Panhandle Pete, where he becomes involved in a confrontation involving gunfire and violence in the town streets.
