Nazi agents approach Spy Smasher and offer him a medal from the War Lord (i.e. Adolf Hitler), saying that the War Lord wants Spy Smasher to take over his spying and sabotage work in America. But Spy Smasher refuses and the agents conspire to kill the hypnotized hero. However, Captain Marvel sees that Spy Smasher, even though the Brainograph has done its work well, still has some good qualities that come through. So when Spy Smasher destroys the Hypno-Chair of the Mask, Captain decides to try and break the spell through his will power and succeeds.
