Wolverine is angry that Rose has decided to marry Smitty and leave their life at the mining camp but this doesn't stop him from throwing a boxing match with his boss so that he can win the prize money to finance their journey. After the bout is over, Logan's old life catches up with him as Dog arrives and begins to beat him down. As Dog boasts about killing Logan's father and watching his mother kill herself, Logan pops his claws and begins to tear apart his old friend. A horrified Rose tries to intervene and Logan accidentally stabs and kills her. Logan leaves to live with the wolves.
