Born on February 27, 1962, Andy Kubert comes from one of comics' most accomplished families — his father Joe Kubert was a celebrated artist and educator, his brother Adam Kubert is a fellow industry veteran, and his niece Katie Kubert works as a comics editor. Andy trained at the Kubert School, the New Jersey institution his father founded, and later returned there as an instructor himself.

He entered the field as a letterer at DC Comics before transitioning to illustration, working on titles such as Sgt. Rock and Adam Strange, as well as the intercompany crossover Batman Versus Predator. A move to Marvel in the 1990s proved particularly fruitful: he contributed to The Uncanny X-Men, Ultimate X-Men, and Ultimate Iron Man, and delivered artwork for the ambitious 1995 "Age of Apocalypse" crossover event.
A Very DC Rebirth Holiday Sequel #[nn] (2019)
Kubert returned to DC in 2005 and took on some of Batman's most discussed storylines of the era, including "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?", "Blackest Night", "Flashpoint", and The Dark Knight III: The Master Race. His collaboration with writer Grant Morrison on Batman produced one of the most enduring character additions in recent memory — Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne's son who would go on to assume the Robin mantle. With credits spanning more than 550 issues across four decades, Kubert's draftsmanship and versatility have made him one of the more consistently sought-after artists in mainstream American comics.
