On Themyscira, Hippolyta and the Amazons view the appearance of a dead tree as a sign that something has happened to Diana. Meanwhile, Diana is still in the psychiatric hospital, mentally shut down to the outside world, communicating only with a vision of a talking snake. Steve and Etta, on the run from Veronica Cale's organization Godwatch, contact an old friend for help, Ferdinand the bull. When the trio come under fire from Godwatch, Barbara Ann agrees to become the Cheetah again and serve Cale in exchange for Cale sparing the lives of her friends.
