Spyke ditches school to ride skateboards with his buddies but when one of his companions manifests powers similar to his own, he feels obligated to tell Professor X about it. Xavier tests the kid out and, even though his power mimicking power turns out to be the product of a scientific experiment rather than a genetic mutation, he offers Ian a place at his school. Finding out he is still considered a normal human, Ian rejects both Xavier's offer and his mutant friend Spyke.
