Gambit and Sebastian Shaw try to protect Xavier. Shaws's father worked with Brian Xavier, Kurt Marko and Nathan Milbury. Xavier takes a mind trip and realizes that he was experimented on by Sinister and implanted with the scientist's genetic code. Xavier is taken to a research complex where he is confronted by Dr. Mueller. He learns the code has became active and is striving for dominance. Xavier has a dilemma as the only way he can defeat Dr. Mueller is by accepting the genetic code implanted in him and becoming Mr. Sinister. Gambit and Shaw are confronted with the results of that decision.
