X-Men: The Times and Life of Lucas Bishop #1
In "Part One: Born to Die," a young Lucas Bishop is born in a future New York mutant internment camp, marked by an M over his eye and shaped by the stories of heroes told by his grandmother. After witnessing his parents' deaths during a violent uprising, he flees into the city’s hidden underbelly—only to be found by someone claiming to be one of the X-Men. Written by Duane Swierczynski and illustrated by Larry Stroman, with inks by Mark Farmer, colors by Matt Milla, and lettering by Virtual Calligraphy and Cory Petit, this issue sets the stage for a story rooted in survival, legacy, and the weight of a name. The cover, by Ariel Olivetti, captures the moment’s intensity with stark, haunting detail.
