X-Force / Cable: Messiah War #[nn]
In "Wasteland Blues Part One," Lucas journeys across a fractured America with the Witness, chasing whispers of Hope—the mutant girl said to have shattered the X-Men. Reunited with his grandmother and sister Shard, the trio finds fragile peace until a violent encounter awakens Lucas’s long-suppressed powers, drawing him into the XSE under uncertain terms. As Trevor Fitzroy and Bishop confront vampiric emplates, Shard’s fate takes a terrifying turn, forcing a desperate choice between life and survival. Written by Duane Swierczynski and illustrated by Larry Stroman, with inks by Mark Farmer and colors by Matt Milla, this issue’s cover by Ariel Olivetti captures the bleak, haunted tone of a world still reeling from the past.
